Sergiu Kirilov: With Germany, we are playing our chance

Ex-national soccer team player Sergiu Kirilov on Tuesday, August 19, will make his debut as head couch of Moldova’s national under-21 football team in a European Championship qualifying match against Germany on Sheriff’s stadium in Tiraspol. At a news conference on Saturday, Kirilov said: “Tuesday we meet a very strong team and any point obtained with Germany may be deemed as an enormous success. We are playing our chance. To obtain the best result possible we need to show up for the game as concentrated and united as we can. I will do my best in order that the national team becomes a great family and the players represent our country with dignity”. Until now, Kirilov assisted head coach Ilie Carp. “I hope you know my footballer skills; I will try my best to do a good job of coaching, too”. Although Moldova hasn’t even the slightest chance to go farther than the qualifying rounds, the coach said this situation motivates him even more so that the games left to play can eclipse the previous failures. To persuade football fans to cheer for Moldova’s under-21 national team, Kirilov promised an offensive and spectacular game.
