Sergiu Kirilov not sure about his future with the squad
Moldova's national U-21 football team coach Sergiu Kirilov is uncertain about his future at the squad. "I'll speak with the Moldovan Football Federation about a possible contract only after the match against Luxembourg", he said at a news conference on Monday ahead of Moldova's last 2009 European Cup qualifier against Luxembourg tomorrow.
Unlike the previous match where Moldova pulled of an unexpected 1:0 win over Germany, Kirilov will not be able to count on the services of Nicolae Rudac and Mihai Turcanu, both injured, and on midfielder Petru Stynga, disqualified after receiving two yellow cards in previous matches. To fill the vacant spots, Kirilov invited Vitalie Bulat (FC Tiraspol), Iurie Livandovschi (Zimbru Chisinau) and Alexandru Dedov (FC Ventspilis).
Sergiu Kirilov also sought to invite goalkeeper Anatol Chirinciuc, who, according to the coach, deserves a test in an official match, especially since the stake of the game is a matter of record rather than of result. At the same time, Kirilov said he hoped to see Moldova win and acquire a morale booster ahead of the next EC stage.
