The governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Sergiu Cioclea, who recently announced his leaving for November 30, could be prepared for the position of Prime Minister, Socialist MP Grigore Novac stated in the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel. The MP anticipated that Prime Minister Pavel Filip would run in a single-member constituency in Strășeni, IPN reports.
“Why did he leave namely now and not earlier? Is the situation so good in the banking system?” asked the MP.
The head of the public organization “Zarea” Mihail Ahremtsev said Sergiu Cioclea didn’t want to be holding the post when the Kroll report would be made public and more interesting details would become known and questions would appear. “Sergiu Cioclea’s leaving can be considered as compliment for his perspicacity. He left on time, without corruption scandals, and will be even awarded,” he stated.
Analyst Roman Mihăeș said that under a judgment on the interim Government passed by the Constitutional Court, the post of Prime Minister can be held on an interim basis only by a Cabinet member.
