“We will make sure that the citizens of Russia are able to exercise their right to vote wherever they are,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in a news conference in Chisinau when asked if Russia will set up polling places for the State Duma elections in Moldova’s Transnistrian region, Info-Prim Neo reports. The minister said that when taking a decision about the voters on the left bank of the Nistru, Moscow will guarantee the rights of the Russian citizens by observing Moldova’s sovereignty. The principle of Moldova’s sovereignty and integrity will be also respected when identifying a solution to the Transnistrian dispute. The State Duma elections in Russia will take place on December 4.
