Sergey Kleshchenko takes over Zimbru Chisinau

Zimbru Chisinau has a new principal coach. Sergey Kleshchenko took over the ‘yellow greens’ after he had worked as the club’s deputy director general during the last two months, says the team’s official website.

Sergey Kleshchenko is the fourth coach of Zimbru this season, after Oleg Bejenar, Oleg Fistican and Sergey Dubrovin. Every time Sergiu Sarbu held the post of main coach on an interim basis. Zimbru now ranks eighth in Moldova’s championship. This is the team’s poorest result in its history, IPN reports.

In his career, the 40-year-old coach prepared the junior national teams of Moldova and Milsami Orhei, winning Moldova’s Cup and Super Cup in the 2011-2012 season. As a striker, he made his debut with Zimbru Chisinau and played 69 matches with the national team, scoring 11 goals.

The National Division clubs Sheriff Tiraspol, Olimpia Balti, Nistru Otaci, Academia Chisinau, Rapid Ghidighici, and FC Costuleni also changed their coaches in 2013.
