The Liberal Democratic Party’s candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau Serafim Urechean promises accessible homes for everyone. He said that the small blocks with three-five stories must be replaced by tall buildings with many apartments and promised that at least 1,000 apartments will be annually erected after the elections, IPN reports.
Serafim Urechean said that during his 11-year-tenure as mayor general of Chisinau municipality, he had always looked for solutions to build homes. There were constructed more than 9,000 apartments and there was founded by the Municipal Mortgage Agency AMIC.
“We pledge to strengthen the capacity of SA AMIC and to allocate gratis land for erecting apartment buildings on it so as to maintain the apartment prices low. For the disfavored categories that work in the social sphere, 20% of the price of apartments will be covered with money from the municipal budget, while the installments will not exceed €250 a month. We aim to facilitate the provision of preferential loans, repayable in 30 years, to newly formed families,” he stated.
As to the attic-like apartments, Serafim Urechean said such apartments should no longer be built. The buildings with three, four and five stories no longer meet the requirements of time. These blocs should be replaced by modern, multi-story buildings.
The candidate also promised to inventory the land sequestrated from the social institutions of Chisinau municipality and the sports grounds after the elections.
