The National Bank’s governor Dorin Dragutanu and former Prime Minister Iurie Leanca are to blame for the theft committed in the banking system, the president of the Audit Office Serafim Urechean said in the talk show “Interpol” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.
“The National Bank is responsible for the banking system, the monetary policy in the state. Dragutanu shouldn’t have allowed releasing those loans and should have prevented this situation, while former Premier Leanca shouldn’t have signed that letter of guarantee for the loan from the central bank for Banca de Economii before taking particular steps. They are both responsible and should answer for what they did in accordance with the law. I think there are many other politicians who are to blame because they were irresponsible,” said Urechean.
The president of the Audit Office also said that Moldova is a captive state and this is because of Igor Dodon, Renato Usatyi and Ilan Shor. “Our state is powerless and is dying. If the political class does not wake up and the so-called pro-European alliance is not formed by the end of this month, we will experience default in autumn. The early elections mean an end for all the parliamentary parties. A broad coalition is needed. An alliance of four parties would solve more problems,” stated Urechean.
Serafim Urechean believes that Vlad Filat is the most suitable candidate for the post of Premier. “This man was punished unjustly when he was dismissed. There were presented no irrefutable proofs of corruption. The dismissal of the Filat Government caused only problems to us in the relations with the EU, the World Bank and the IMF. If Filat is reappointed as head of Government, he will solve many problems,” he stated.
