Head of Parliament and Acting President of Moldova Marian Lupu presented a minibus to a family with many children, while Prime Minister Vlad Filat gave a car to another family with many children within the third Family Festival on May 15, Info-Prim Neo reports. During the event held in Chisinau's central garden, Marian Lupu said the state must first of all promote family values that are very important. “I must admit that the present situation is still difficult, but I'm confident that it will improve in the near future,” he stated. The head of state congratulated those attending the event and donated a minibus to a family from Doina village of Cahul district, who has 15 children. Vlad Filat gave a car to a family with three biological and 12 adopted children. He thanked the mother of the children for their decision to bring up children who remained without parental care. He also urged supporting the family as a fundamental value of society. The organizers of the festival also gave presents to families with many children. A concert involving children from Chisinau schools, the creation center “Artico” and national singers, awareness raising events and contests for children took place within the festival. The third Family Festival in Moldova was organized by the Government in cooperation with the UN. It took place in Chisinau and other settlements during May 10-15. The Family Day is marked on May 15, under a UN decision of September 20, 1993.
