The senior state functionaries have known about the tragic hunting incident in the Domneasca Forest since December. First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc informed Prime Minister Vlad Filat about this case the next day. The Ministry of the Interior also knew about it, but kept it secret. The leader of the “Antimafie” Movement Sergiu Mocanu told the press that he told this information when he was questioned by the parliamentary commission of inquiry on February 1, Info-Prim Neo reports. The politician also said that he found out about the incident in the Domneasca Forest on January 3, from an employee of the Ministry of the Interior, who said that the then prosecutor general Valeriu Zubco killed a man during hunting. Afterward, Sergiu Mocanu contacted a person working at the Security and Information Service and asked him for details. The information from the SIS was distorted intentionally by the institution’s vice director Vadim Vrabie. The commission of inquiry questioned a number of persons over this case. Former prosecutor general Valeriu Zubco was also summoned, but he invoked health problems and did not present himself before the commission.
