FC Tiraspol is the last semifinalist of Moldova’s Football Cup. In quarterfinals, the team trained by Vlad Goian beat Zimbru Chisinau 2-0. Both of the goals were scored in the first half by Georgi Karaneychev from Bulgaria and Yevgen Zarichniuk from Ukraine, IPN reports.
In the semifinal on May 7 or 8, FC Tiraspol will play Sheriff Tiraspol, which demolished Nistru Otaci 7-0. In the other semifinal, Veris Chisinau, which leads in Division A, will duel with the Cup holder Milsami Orhei. The draw to decide the hosts will take place at the headquarters of the Moldovan Football Federation this week.
Sheriff Tiraspol has won seven Moldova’s Cups, Zimbru - five, Tiligul Tiraspol – three, Constructorul Chisinau – two, while Bugeac Comrat, Nistru Otaci, Milsami, and Iskra-Stal Rybnitsa by one.
