Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office announces that real estate and vehicles, worth 12.8 million lei have been frozen in the case started on charges of illicit enrichment levelled against the former chairman of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ), Ion Druță, IPN reports.
The anti-corruption prosecutors have requested the seizure of three dwellings located in Chisinau, a car produced in 2016 and six other immovable property objects, uninhabitable rooms, also in Chisinau. All of them are registered under the names of family members and persons from the entourage of the judge.
The notification of the Information and Security Service, that analysed the properties acquired by members of the Druță family between 2016-2019 and found an essential discrepancy between them and the declared legal revenues, served as grounds for initiating the criminal prosecution.
Ion Druță was detained on October 2. He is currently under judicial control.
