Five people were arrested in Chisinau on suspicion that they distributed drugs through Telegram. Investigative officers seized heroin, mephedrone, amphetamine, hashish and marijuana to the value of 1 million lei, IPN reports.

According to the information provided by the police, the criminal group worked in Botanica district, supplying local consumers. The five men, aged between 19 and 37, acted as couriers, placing the drugs in hiding places, from where they were picked up by customers.

Following searches, drugs of various types were found. In an apartment rented by one of them, the police discovered significant quantities of heroin, mephedrone, hashish and amphetamine, along with zip-lock packages, adhesive tape and precision electronic scales.

All the suspects were arrested for 72 hours and face 7 to 15 years in prison. The investigation goes on.
