Seeking money for exit poll in snap elections

The traditional exit poll will be held at the upcoming early parliamentary elections only if there is money. The statement was made on June 4 by the director of the Public Policies Institute (PPI), Arcadie Barbarosie, at a seminar on the issue, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Barbarosie, they need about $148,000 to hold the research. Referring to the poll on April 5, the PPI director says it's important to analyze the results and the problems that emerged: “We had a big percentage of refusals, negative or insincere answers, although the interest for the exit poll was rather big.” Barbarosie says many made their vote decisions only in the last month. “The big percentage of the undecided should make the political parties think, in order to work more in the race,” he said. Mihai Godea, a top leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), says the exit poll is welcome. “We grew cautious when we saw the difference between the results announced by the Central Election Commission and the ones of the exit poll.” “The sociologists' intention is welcome, but they must improve their techniques,” Godea recommended. At the parliamentary elections of April 5, 2009, the exit poll was carried out at 200 polling stations.
