Security Council assembles to discuss energy matters

President Maia Sandu convened the Supreme Security Council as a matter of emergency to discuss energy sector issues amid rising European market prices. No official statements for the press were made after the meeting.

The Council heard reports on gas bill payment levels and forecasts for 2022 gas imports. The Council also discussed outlooks for January and solutions for a potential crisis.

The Council has recommended the Government to take all the steps needed to ensure uninterrupted gas supplies to consumers.
