Secretariats of Moldovan and Latvian legislatures to sign cooperation agreement
A delegation of the Apparatus of the Moldovan Parliament headed by director general Adrian Fetescu will pay a fact-finding visit to Riga during August 2-4, at the invitation of the Latvian Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the legislative body's press service.
In Riga, the Moldovan delegation will have meetings with the Head of the Latvian Parliament Gundars Daudze, the director of the Parliament's Chancellery Maris Steins, heads of parliamentary commissions, representatives of the Saeima Chancellery and NGOs, Latvian experts, including Gints Freimanis, adviser to Latvia's Prime Minister, and other officials.
The meetings will center on subjects aimed at strengthening the capacities of the officials of the Moldovan Parliament, especially on the role of the legislative body and the parliamentary commissions in the European integration process, personnel management, financial administration and planning, parliamentary control, etc. The Saeima Chancellery and the Moldovan Parliament's Apparatus will sign a cooperation agreement.
The visit is paid as part of the Supporting the Development of the Parliament of Moldova Project financed by the Government of Denmark, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and the UNDP.
