The sellers of secondhand mobile phones ask the authorities to ensure legal work conditions for them outside the market set up on Calea Basarabiei St, Info-Prim Neo reports. Valeriu Nani, the leader of a group of protesters who blocked traffic near the market two weeks ago, told a news conference that the authorities did not take measures to solve the problems faced by these vendors, who work on the basis of patent. He said the protest they staged on June 24 was a gesture of despair as the tax inspectors sealed up a number of stalls for the reason that the sellers did not have the required documents. Under the law, only companies are allowed to sell mobile phones. Valeriu Nani also said that the deputy head of the Tax Service Ion Frunze promised them then he will take measures, but things remain unchanged. According to the leader of the group of protesters, as the state does not provide well-paid jobs, the authorities should at least create conditions for developing the small businesses. The sellers of mobile phones said they are ready to pay all the necessary taxes in order to be able to work legally. In the same news conference, Eugen Roscovanu, president of the Small Business Association, said the vendors of used mobile phones started their small businesses by themselves and created a workplace using their own financial resources. “I think the authorities should appreciate this,” he stated. He also said that these persons want to work legally. Most of them are young persons who remained to build a future in Moldova and did not join the ranks of the migrants. The sellers of secondhand mobile phones threaten to mount new protests if the situation does not change.
