Second wave of pandemic flu expected at end-March

"The second wave of pandemic AH1N1 flu is expected at the end of March and the epidemiological situation could worsen if the people continue to ignore the vaccination,” Vasile Sohotski, the deputy head of the National Scientific Practical Center of Preventive Medicine, has told Info-Prim Neo. So far, the vaccine was administered to 300,000 persons, mostly from Chisinau. There are 200,000 more vaccines available of those donated by the Government of Romania. “The people must realize that vaccination is the only way of avoiding catching the virus,” Vasile Sohotski said. The pandemic influenza has killed 46 people in Moldova. The death toll worldwide has reached more than 16,400. During February 28 and March 5, 213 countries reported new cases of AH1N1 flu.
