The second round of mayoral elections will be held in Sarata-Galbena village of Hancesti district on May 29. The voters will choose between two candidates who polled the largest number of votes in the first round, IPN reports.

According to the Central Election Commission, the post of mayor in the second round will be disputed by Mihail Lozovoi of the Democratic Party, who won 996 votes in the first round (49.08% of the poll), and Valeriu Taras of the Liberal Party, who gained 918 votes (45.24%).

Under the Election Code, the second round of voting is held with the participation of the same composition of the electoral bodies and based on the same voter rolls.
