A number of kiosks at a storehouse situated on Hâncești St in Chisinau started to burn this morning.  Containers with honey and other goods were kept inside this. The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations announced a second-level firefighting operation, IPN reports.

The call to the 112 Service was made close to 4am on Monday. Nine rescue and firefighting teams were dispatched to the scene.

The employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations established that the flames engulfed an area of 1,000 square meters. The firefighters localized the fire in about half an hour and fully extinguished it close to 6am.

The fire destroyed eight kiosks and 300 square meters of the storehouse’s roof.

No victims were reported.
