The Government headed by Zinaida Greceanii was invested Wednesday by the vote of 59 Communist MPs. The parliamentary Opposition did not take part in the vote. The composition of the second Greceanii Government remained the same, except the Minister of Local Public Administration. Iacob Timciuc replaced the former Minister of Local Public Administration Valentin Guznac. The new minister did not attend the sitting. Iacob Timciuc had been Minister of Energy from 2001 until 2005 during the Tarlev Government. Afterward, he was appointed as Ambassador of Moldova to China. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism will also have a head. This is Mihai Barbulat, who had been Ambassador to Turkey and head of the Protocol Service of the Presidential Office. The post of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Trade will be held by Igor Dodon, while the positions of Deputy Prime Ministers – by Victor Stepaniuc and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Stratan. The members from the previous Government include: Anatolie Gorodenco – Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Vladimir Baldovici – Minister of Construction and Territorial Development, Violeta Ivanov – Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Galina Balmos – Minister of Social Protection, Family and Child, Vitalie Parlog – Minister of Justice, Vitalie Vrabie – Minister of Defense, Vasile Sova – Minister of Reintegration, Gheorghe Papuc – Minister of Internal Affairs, Mariana Durlesteanu – Minister of Finance, Larisa Savga – Minister of Education and Youth, Larisa Catrinici – Minister of Health, Pavel Buceatchi – Minister of Information Development. Former Deputy Prime Minister Valentin Mejinschi holds no post in the new Government. The Government also includes two ex officio members – the governor of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia Mihail Formuzal and the president of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova Gheorghe Duca. The new government program is based on the following priorities: ensuring of the functioning of the state of law, integration into the EU, promotion of the foreign policy in accordance with the international norms, settlement of the Transnistrian dispute, efficient management of the economic crisis, immediate rehabilitation of the national economy, and the continuation of the policies aimed at supporting the youth.
