721 new coronavirus cases were reported today, after 786 cases yesterday. Eight more people were reported dead.

The total case count now stands at 48,953, with 1,252 deaths.

2,621 tests, including 2,440 primary ones, were carried out in the last 24 hours. Of the 721 confirmed case, most – 356 – were reported in Chișinău municipality. 102 other cases were recorded in the Transnistrian region. 37 health care workers were reported infected.

The number of recovered cases exceeds 36,600, as roughly 11,000 cases remain active. 592 patients are in a serious condition, and 35 others are connected to ventilators.
