Second chance for failed pupils

Pupils who failed the baccalaureate exams and that of the gymnasium cycle can re-pass them at the repeated session. The consultant of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, Lidia Costiuc, announced that the preliminary marks show that the percentage of those failing the exams is very low. The average mark at the majority of exams is 7-8. In lyceums and schools from numerous raions no negative marks were registered, Lidia Costiuc noted. According to her, within 3 days after the session, pupils dissatisfied of their marks have the right to address appeals, which a competent commission is to examine. On July 3 the repeated session will start. “We decided to repeat the session in order to give the children one more chance to go to university,” Lidia Costiuc also mentioned. Detailed analysis of the BAC exams and the gymnasium cycle will be ready in 2 weeks. On the whole, in Moldova, 28,000 lyceum pupils, 55,000 gymnasium pupils and 15,000 general school pupils passed this session.
