Update/18:05/ Ex-director general of SA Termoelectrica Veaceslav Eni was classed as a suspect and questioned, being suspected of abuse of office. The same actions were taken with regard to “an accomplice”. According to prosecutors, the two made statements, but do not accept blame, IPN reports.
As a result of the searches carried out today, the prosecutors seized documents that are to be examined to determine their relation to the investigated case. The suspects are investigated outside remand.
(Initial news article) Anticorruption prosecutors are conducting searches in a criminal case started over abuse of office that was allegedly committed by the former director general of SA Termoelectrica Veaceslav Eni, IPN reports.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office said that searches are carried out at a number of addresses. Details will be provided when the investigative measures are over.
Veaceslav Eni completed his duties as Termoelectrica director general on December 1, 2021. He had held the post for six years.
