Two companies that provide legal services, Just Consult and Document Park, were searched in the cases started over the fraudulent obtaining of Romanian nationality. The National Anticorruption Center said the involved persons weren’t give a status as this will be decided after the evidence seized during searches is analyzed, IPN reports.

At the start of last month, a number of business entities, private individuals and public figures, notaries and other intermediaries in the Republic of Moldova and Romania started to be investigated by anticorruption officers on suspicion that they form part of a scheme of corruption and influence peddling by which a number of Moldovans were helped to obtain difference services for regaining Romanian nationality for money.

The services included the hastening of the issuing of identification papers, civil status documents and birth certificates, issuing of powers of attorney in the name of third parties, etc. The charges varied between €50 and €5,000.
