Anticorruption prosecutors carried out searches at the Leușeni customs post this morning as part of an investigations into presupposed acts of corruption committed by customs officers and border police officers of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
The General Border Police Inspectorate said the searches were conducted in a criminal case started over passive corruption and active corruption. During special investigative measures, there were identified schemes to illegally earn money and documented the actions of employees of the Border Police and Customs Service who are suspected of acts of corruption.
The searches were carried out by prosecutors of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office and officers of the Internal Protection and Anticorruption Service of the Ministry of the Interior and of the General Border Police Inspectorate and by employees of the Customs Service.
