Law enforcement officers on Monday raided the house a former member of Parliament in two cases on money laundering, illicit enrichment and false statements. The press reported that this is Eleonora Graur, who was a member of the Democratic Party and then left the party, IPN reports.

The National Anticorruption Center said that searches were carried out at several addresses in Chisinau and outside the municipality in cases featuring the former MP and relatives of this person.

According to the materials of the criminal case, while holding office in 2014-2019, the former MP substantially augmented the personal property and the property of family members, which could not be reasonably justified in relation to the legally earned income.

Among the acquired properties are movable, immovable assets located abroad as well. In order to conceal them, the property right was registered in the name of relatives and other persons.

Following this morning’s searches, 400,000 lei and 80,000 euros were found in the MP’s home and seized. The origin of the money is to be established. The suspect is being investigated at large.
