The Chisinau Council of the Social Democracy Party (SDP) decided Thursday to field Dumitru Braghis, MP and SDP leader, as the candidate for mayor general of Chisinau municipality. According to a press release of the party, the list of candidates for councillors in the Chisinau Municipal Council has been approved in the same assembly. MC has also discussed and approved the strategy and tactics of the Municipal Organisation of SDP in the general local elections scheduled for June 3, 2007. On Friday, April 27, the Social Democracy Party will submit to the Chisinau District Election Council the documents for registration of the candidate for the office of mayor general of Chisinau municipality and list of candidates for councillors. To date, 13 parties put up candidates for mayor and councillors. Eleven candidates and lists of councillors presented by eleven parties have been already registered, as well as an unaffiliated candidate for municipal councillor.
