The well-known Moldovan sculptor Veaceslav Jiglitski was conferred the Medal for Merit to Culture of Poland. The award was handed over in a festive way by the Ambassador of Poland in Chisinau Tomasz Kobzdej, IPN reports.
“Veaceslav Jiglitski has cooperated for many years with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Chisinau, being, among others, the author of the bust of Józef Piłsudski and the sculptures of John Paul II and Adam Mickiewicz,” the Embassy stated in a press release.
The artist often mentioned that his family has its roots in the Polish city of Łódź.
