Sculptor Andrei Dohotaru presents monuments to Sulac and Eminescu in miniature

Sculptor Andrei Dohotaru presented the monuments to Nicolae Sulac and Mihai Eminescu in miniature in the February 4 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials. Deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu said the sculptures deserve attention, but the problem is where to put them, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We shouldn’t crowd an area or place them with no use somewhere,” said the deputy mayor. The sculpture of Mihai Eminescu was made in the style of the 19th century. The poet is represented staying on a bench. “A similar sculpture of Leonid Utiosov sitting on a chair exists in Odessa city. I made small bronze models so that it is clear what they represent,” said the author. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said the map of the historical center of Chisinau should be analyzed, but he is also waiting for proposals from people. “The monument to Nicolae Sulac may be placed in front of the National Palace, but we should see if there is enough space,” he stated. In the previous meetings, it was proposed that the monument to Nicolae Sulac should be put in front of the National Palace, while the bench on which Mihai Eminescu will stay - in the central park of Chisinau.
