The Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) gave the go-ahead to investigate a judge following a request made by acting prosecutor general Dumitru Robu. The name of the judge wasn’t made public, IPN reports.
At the start of the April 20 meeting, the acting president of the Council Dorel Musteață said that Dumitru Robu made three requests this morning. The acting prosecutor general attended the meeting and the requests were examined behind closed doors.
As a result, the SCM gave the green light to carry out searches against the judge who is suspected of unjust enrichment. The name of the judge and the court where this works weren’t made known.
The press reported that this is Valeriu Hudoba of the Comrat Court. Contacted by IPN for a comment on the issue, spokesman for the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases Emil Gaitur said that he will provide relevant information later.
The examination of the other two requests, to permit to investigate another judge sand to suspend a judge from post, was put off.
