A scientific researcher of the Science Academy of Moldova loaned MDL 20 thousand from a bank for publishing two books about the forgotten persons, people’s artists and legends of the Moldovan choreography, Spriridon Mocanu and Ion Furnica, Info-Prim Neo reports. Arhip Taralunga, scientific researcher, choreograph-master, leader of “Comoara” Dance Ensemble told Info-Prim Neo that by the means of his books he wanted to counter burying in oblivion the great artists of the nation. The book about Spiridon Mocanu, entitled “A Living Legend” was ready to be published in 2003, but because of the lack of money, the manuscript remained unpublished until the second book “Ion Furnica – Famous Dancer” was ready. Afterwards he loaned the necessary sum of money from a bank and published the books. Because some documents were missing from the archives of Chisinau, he searched for them in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The both books were presented to their heroes and to those who came to the event at the National Library, on Tuesday, December 12. Spiridon Mocanu told Info-Prim Neo that he is happy to get again public’s attention, even if he is not on the stage anymore. Ion Furnica said that he was not hoping for such a gift, because he resigned to the life he has. The books have 1000 printed copies each.
