Science and business sector support each other
Science needs support, while the business sector needs the latest scientific and technological advances. Such a conclusion was reached by representatives of the two fields in a meeting of the administration of the Moldova Business People Association (AOAM) and of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. They described the cooperation between science and the business sector as a vital necessity, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the public relations service of AOAM.
The meeting participants stressed the necessity of applying the scientific accomplishments. It was underlined that Moldova achieved certain results on narrow segments that are as important as the similar accomplishments achieved in the world. The parties consented that a closer cooperation with the business environment will contribute to the improvement of this indicator, which would enable to make in the country many of the imported products.
“We published on our website 100 innovatory projects that can be put into practice. We are looking for persons who will support us and invest in people through donations, financing and different contests,” said the Academy’s president Gheorghe Duca.
AOAM head Vlad Plahotniuc supported this idea. “We must select persons with potential and abilities and offer them support so that they can develop.”
The parties agreed to create a permanent format for discussion and communication between business people and representatives of the academic community. One of the priorities of this format will be to work out a national economy development strategy and legislative initiatives aimed at contributing to the development of the business environment.
According to the communiqué, the Moldova Business People Association is a nongovernmental, apolitical, nonprofit organization that aims to improve the business environment and support the entrepreneurial spirit for a sustainable economic development in Moldova, in accordance with the EU values. The main objectives of the Association are based on three directions: legislative initiatives for optimizing the normative framework; promotion of Moldova's image abroad and attraction of foreign investments; programs to support the SME sector, and building of an efficient business and investment environment.
