The festivities dedicated to the start of the 2024/25 academic year can be held by schools on September 1 or 2. The decision is to be made by each individual institution after consulting the respective school community, as instructed by the Ministry of Education.

According to the rules, educational institutions, following the decision of the Teachers’ Council, have the right to decide the time and date of the festivities and the first lesson of the new academic year. Also, schools can decide the format of the festivities, but also the activities that will take place in the classrooms on the first day of the 2024-2025 academic year.

The first lesson of this academic year will be held under the theme of “Together for Peace” and will be mandatory for all public and private educational institutions. To conduct the thematic lesson, didactic resources adapted to the age of the students were recommended to the leaders. The materials were developed with the support of the Council of Europe.
