The heating season in Chisinau starts on October 1. Heat will be first supplied to schools and kindergartens. Only the apartment buildings that do not have debts for heat will be connected to the heating system. An order to this effect was made by Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca on September 30, IPN reports.

The head of the Children’s Rights Protection Division Svetlana Chifa said that all the boarding schools have autonomous heating systems and they switched them on at the beginning of last week.

The Public Amenities Division head Petru Gontea said that 30% of the Chisinau apartment buildings have been checked until now. These blocks can start to be supplied with heat.

The heating season last year began at the end of October.
