More than 30 national education institutions stopped work on January 11 because of the unfavorable meteorological conditions, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Education, nine schools in five districts were closed. Three of these are in Cahul, two in Cantemir, two in Causeni, one in Sangerei and one in Taraclia.

Also, 25 kindergartens stopped work based on decisions taken by the local public authorities. The preschool education institutions are situated in Leova (9), Ocnita (7), Briceni (3), Cahul (4), and Taraclia (2) districts.

A number of 29 school bus routes in six districts were suspended. Thus, 1,429 students could not be transported to district schools.
