Schoolchildren getting to know their police officers

Over 1,700 officers will speak today before more than 36,000 first-graders as part of “Get to Know Your Police Officer” campaign organized by the Ministry of the Interior in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Info-Prim Neo reports. The MoI said in a press release that the campaign is organized in all the schools across the country. The police officers will explain to the children the role of the police and the rules of behavior in the street. Getting to know the local police by the children and parents will make schools a safer place, says the MoI. Further, considering the high incidence of traffic accidents involving minors, the campaign also aims to raise the children's awareness of the most basic traffic rules.
