School year end festivities held in schools in Moldova

The last bell ring was heard today in the national schools, while a part of the preschoolers bid farewell to kindergarten. On this occasion, President Maia Sandu and Minister of Education, Culture and Research Lilia Pogolșa transmitted congratulatory messages to students, parents and teachers, IPN reports.

Maia Sandu wished everyone a nice vacation full of discoveries and joys alongside friends. She also wished good luck to the students who are getting ready for exams.

Lilia Pogolșa urged the students to profit from each day of vacation for traveling, reading, doing sports and spending time near the dear ones so as to return on September 1 to classrooms healthy, with new impressions and ready to study again. She also thanked the teachers and executive staff from the education sector for abnegation, devotion and considerable contribution to educating the young generation in a different year.

According to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the primary education stage during the 2020-2021 school year was completed by about 33,300 students. The graduates of secondary schools totaled about 29,760, while of lyceums over 11,000.
