This school week will be by one day shorter. The winter vacation for school students starts on December 25, the head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana-Nagnibeda Tverdohleb said in the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, IPN reports.

The winter vacation is 17 days long. The students will return to classes on January 11. The nursery schools will work in the period, except for December 25, January 1, 7 and 8, which are nonworking days.

After the winter vacation, the first-fourth graders will have an inter-term vacation, between February 27 and March 8. The fifth-twelfth graders will be on vacation on March 4-8. The Easter vacation will last from April 30 until May 9.

According to the Education Code, the 2015-2016 school year is 33 weeks long for primary schools, 35 weeks long for secondary schools and 34 weeks long for the ninth and twelfth grades.
