The municipal school subject olympiads will end by mid-April in Chisinau, as the winners will be awarded at a gala in May. According to a plan of the Chisinau Education Division for 2009, 42 olympiads are to be held for all the subjects taught in schools, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from Tatiana Nistreanu, an official of the Direction. According to her, a series of schools and lycees from the capital have already held olympiads for different subjects. On March 21 and 22, the informatics olympiad, called “Info-office”, will be held in the Jewish high school. On March 28, the lycee “Minerva” will host the municipal olympiad for the Romanian language and literature, called “Dimitrie Cantemir”. The geography competition will be held on April 4. The series of the municipal olympiads will end in the 42th edition of the scientific-practical conference of students called “Labor, Talent, Boldness,” planned for April 12 and hosted by Antioh Cantemir high school. According to the Education Division's data, the municipal olympiads will be attended by over 13,000 pupils in 2008, 320 of which got the first positions. The municipal olympiads drive started on December 20, 2008.
