School-leavers’ parents request through petition announcing marks after every test

The provision of the Regulation of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport regarding the announcement on the marks only at the end of the graduating exams session might be abrogated, if the parents and the pupils address a petition requiring the marks after every test, the head of the Municipal Education, Science, Youth and Sport Department (DESTS), Alexandru Roman, announced about this. According to him, until now, DESTS got many oral addresses on behalf of the school leavers’ parents, being dissatisfied with the new procedure imposed this year by the specialized ministry, through which the test results are made public only at the end of the session. Many specialists in psychology mentioned that keeping the children in expectation and incertitude for several weeks is an extremely dangerous factor for their health and psychology, they being already stressed with the exams. The doctors warn about the risks of certain neurotic and hypertension crises, as well as headaches and stomach pains. Graduating exams session have started on 2 June and will end, for gymnasium graduates, on 12 June, and for the other – on 15 June. For BAC graduates, the last exams will be held on 13 and 20 June, and for general school leavers – on 22 and 26 June. According to METS decision, the examining commissions of those two National BAC Centers of the lyceums „Mihai Kogalniceanu” and „Stefan cel Mare” have 10 days for checking the tests. On the whole, this year, 5,200 lyceum graduates, 4,800 general school leavers and 10,800 gymnasium graduates will take graduation exams.
