The Hungarian government is offering 40 scholarships for Moldovan students willing to continue their studies in Hungarian universities. To formalize this, a Memorandum of Understanding within the 2023-2025 Stipendium Hungaricum Program was signed between the Moldovan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nicu Popescu and his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó.
According to the Moldovan Embassy in Hungary, the scholarships are allocated for different education levels: 25 for undergraduate studies, 10 for master’s studies and 5 for doctoral studies. The scholarship program contributes to the training of qualified specialists who, upon returning to the country, will bring new innovations to the country’s economy, contributing to a knowledge-based society.
“I am grateful for these investments in the next generation and for establishing close ties throughout Europe”, said Nicu Popescu.
The Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship is based on bilateral educational agreements among Hungary and the governments of the sending countries and is already available on five continents in almost 90 countries and territories, attracting more than 5000 international students every year. More than 600 full degree programs are offered to applicants, covering all areas of higher education at all degree levels, including part-time and doctoral programs.
Interested students are encouraged to check out the program’s website. The deadline for applications is January 16.
