Schedule of street repairs in Chisinau
The repair of Stefan cel Mare Avenue, as well as of streets Vasile Alecsandri and Constantin Negruzzi will begin next summer. The technical projects have been submitted to consultants for verification and for the preparation of task sheets. The announcement was made by head of the transports division Adrian Boldurescu during the City Hall meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Adrian Boldurescu said that by January 7 foreign consultants will come to Chisinau to prepare the task sheets in January-March. The tenders will take place in April-May. The repair of the three streets will begin no later than July 31, 2013, and the estimated date of finalization is May-June 2014.
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca demanded that the works be coordinated with the block administrators, Apa-Canal Chisinau and Termocom so that there would be no diggings for 10 years after the streets are repaired. “We don’t want to repair the Stefan cel Mare Avenue and afterwards someone to demand electrical networks, aqueducts or sewerage. We must consider all the work in the next 10 years, so that there would be no intervention afterwards. It would be a shame to repair the city’s main avenue and then to dig it”, he explained.
The discussion also referred to the building of the underground parking under the Great National Assembly Square. The responsible Deputy Mayor Nistor Grozavu thinks the project is realistic. “Almost all the theoretic and practical studies have been carried out. That’s why I think that the “Chisinauproiect” Institute will finalize the feasibility study in less than 120 days and afterwards we’ll announce the public-private partnership”. According to Nistor Grozavu, it is fully realistic for the underground parking’s resistance structure to be covered before the repair of the avenue reaches this area.
