The state-owned enterprise Moldelectrica repeatedly called on the consumers across the country to save electricity, especially in the morning and evening, during the peak hours - between 09:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and between 06:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., IPN reports.
The peak demand on Friday was recorded between 04:00 p.m. and 07:00 p.m., with a maximum consumption of 817 MW, Moldelectrica's data show.
The adoption of saving measures helps to avoid overloading the high-voltage power lines and reduce electricity bills, the company emphasizes.
For its part, the Government's Crisis Cell informed that the volume of power needed for Saturday was fully secured, without resorting to emergency supply contracts, and more than half of the necessary electricity (53.07%) was imported from Romania.
