Saturday’s car accident victim identified with media’s help
The man who was deadly injured on Saturday evening in a traffic accident on Balcani Street has been identified with the help of the media.
Ion Roscovanu, Road Safety Inspector of the Chisinau Traffic Police, told Info-Prim Neo that the victim’s family, worried about the man’s disappearance, found out about the tragic accident from the news.
On Tuesday, 5 February, three persons were injured in road accidents, all of them involving Opel vehicles. The first accident occurred at about 8AM at the intersection of the streets Ismail and Albisoara. An Opel-Record vehicle, driven by a 68-year-old man, hit a Land Rover. As a consequence, a 70-year-old passenger in the Opel suffered right shoulder and rib traumas.
An Opel-Vectra, driven by a young man of 19, hit a 64-year-old woman. The victim was hospitalised with an occipital fracture and a brain concussion. The accident took place at about 11AM on Traian Blvd.
A woman, 54, was severely injured when an Opel-Combo vehicle hit her on Alecu Russo Street. The woman was sent to hospital with head trauma, brain concussion and soft tissue injury of the knee.
For various traffic violations police officers applied 410 fines, including 106 for wrong manoeuvres, 33 for driving on red, 25 for driving unbuckled, and 8 for drunk-driving. 32 pedestrians were fined for jaywalking. 16 minor accidents were registered during the day.
