The roof of the municipal theater Satiricus Ion Luca Caragiale will be renovated this year, with the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) allocating 6 million lei for the repair, Info-Prim Neo reports. Sandu Grecu, the theater’s artistic director and Lib-Dem councilor, said that the theater was built in 1961 and the roof was in a disastrous state. “All the rafters are rotten. There is a risk that the roof might fall over the audience. It leaks. When it rains, it rains over the viewers”, complained Sandu Grecu. Satiricus Ion Luca Caragiale Theater was founded in 1990 by actor and director Sandu Grecu. During the same meeting, on April 27, CMC decided to allocate funds for the renovation of Scut Squad’s bathrooms, the culture house in Vadul lui Voda and the kindergarten in Tohatin.
