Sappers demine 13 explosive devices
During the last two weeks of April, the military bomb squad deactivated 13 explosive devices in different settlements of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry of Defense.
According to Captain Sergiu Chilivnic, specialist at the National Army’s Sapper Service of the Joint Forces Command, several unidentified objects were found during agricultural works by residents of Baccelia and Chircaiesti villages of Causeni district between April 13 and 29. After examining the fields, the sappers discovered 4 German-made mines from the period of the Second World War.
An artillery shell was found during cleaning works on a street in Codru town of the municipality of Chisinau. It was transported to the Bulboaca Shooting Range to be destroyed.
The combat engineers of the National Army have demined 696 explosive devices during the first four months of this year.
