The Chisinau Emergency Hospital will have a landing platform for emergency sanitary helicopters. The platform is being set up on the fourth floor of the institution that is being renovated.
Contacted by IPN, director of the National Emergency Medicine Center of Chisinau (Emergency Hospital) Gheorghe Ciobanu said the platform will enable the sanitary helicopters to land directly on the institution’s roof. From there, an elevator will go down directly to the reanimatology section and the surgery ward.
According to Gheorghe Ciobanu, the sanitary aviation will be used from 2014. Initially, the patients will be transported by helicopters of the state-owned enterprise “Moldaeroservice”. Afterward, there will be purchased a modern sanitary helicopter outfitted with all the medical equipment needed to carry patients in a serious state. The cost of such a helicopter is about €6 million.
