Sangera man says he was severely beaten by police officer

A man from Sangera town of Chisinau municipality was admitted to the hospital with multiple traumas. The patient told the doctors that he was beaten by a police officer, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the spokesman for the National Emergency Medicine Center Petru Cravet, the 36-year-old man suffered a concussion, injury to the internal organs and the thorax and rib fractures. An ambulance took him to the hospital from the street. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, General Police Commissariat spokesman Adrian Jovmir said the police officer went to the man’s place to inform him that legal action was taken against him over violation of the traffic rules. The policeman did not find the man and talked to his mother. Later, the man went to the police station under the influence of alcohol and crawled and made a show there. The police officer helped him to stand up and told him to sit on a chair. There were several persons in the room who can testify that the policeman did not beat him, Adrian Jovmir said. The case is investigated by the Internal Security Division of the General Police Commissariat.
