“I respect Andrei Spînu 's decision and thank him for his contribution," President Maia Sandu said a few hours after Andrei Spînu announced his decision to quit as Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development and to leave the Party of Action and Solidarity, IPN reports.
Maia Sandu stressed that Andrei Spînu changed the situation in the energy sector and managed to rid Moldova of energy blackmail.
According to the head of state, Spînu made his contribution "to the European Village program and to many projects that resulted in important sections of repaired or built roads."
Asked by the press about the Cabinet reshuffles, Maia Sandu replied briefly: "As far as the Government is concerned, the decision as to changes is taken by the Prime Minister."
The head of state made the statements after the meeting of the Supreme Security Council and a few hours after Andrei Spînu’s announcement to withdraw from the Government and the PAS. "I hope that this step will allow the return to discussions about Moldova in the public space," Andrei Spînu posted on his Facebook page on Monday morning.
