Moldovan swimmer Alexei Sancov won a silver medal at the European Junior Swimming Championships that took place in Hungary. In the 200-meter freestyle, he achieved the result of 1 minute and 48.54 seconds, IPN reports.
Sancov, who was outstripped only by a Polish athlete, will take part in the Rio Olympic Games scheduled for August 5-21. He will enter the competition on August 7, together with Tatiana Chisca, who will compete in 100-meter breaststroke.
Tatiana Salcutan also won silver in the European Junior Swimming Championships, in the 200-meter backstroke. She scored the result of 2 minutes and 11.60 seconds and set a new national record.
